The Applied Microbial Remediation Technician course covers mould and sewage remediation techniques to individuals engaged in property management, property restoration, IEQ investigations or other related professions.

The IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Course (AMRT) is an excellent learning experience for people who are involved in carpet cleaning, water damage of any kind or looking to gain more skills and knowledge in mould remediation.

Emphasis will be placed on teaching mould and sewage remediation techniques to individuals who will perform these procedures in the field. The AMRT course gives you a thorough understanding of the different types of mould, the risks associated with mould and best practice for mould remediation.

  • Identify the risks associated with mould remediation and implement risk minimisation strategies

  • Understand the dangers of category 3 water and how to remediate sewerage

  • Differentiate between ‘cleaning’ and ‘removal’, and adopt best-practice strategies accordingly

Course graduates will be adequately equipped to perform remediation services, while protecting the health and safety of workers and occupants.

Sit the optional exam at the end of this course to gain your IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician Certification upon successful completion. All exam fees are payable directly to IICRC on the day of the exam.

*Please note it is a requirement of the IICRC that the Water Restoration Course be completed prior to sitting the Applied Microbial Remediation Course.*
